NTV has revealed the first teaser picture of actress Aragaki Yui as the protagonist in the upcoming drama special, “Ranma 1/2“, and it was revealed that she actually cut “1/2″ (half) of her long hair for this role.

Aragaki is known for her beautiful long hair and so her transformation took fans by surprise. However, it was Aragaki herself who made this proposal to the staff, as she was determined to completely dedicate herself to this live-action adaptation. She’s been a big fan of “Ranma 1/2″ mangaka, Takahashi Rumiko, since her junior high school days.

Furthermore, it was revealed that she actually cut most of her hair herself, after the beauty artist proposed, “Why don’t you try cutting it to shoulder-length yourself?” The beauty artist then continued to give her the very unfamiliar short hairstyle.

Aragaki commented, “The last time I had such a short hairstyle was in junior high school.” She added, “I didn’t hesitate at all when it was time to cut my hair and just did it. It wasn’t really that much of a moment for me. (laughs) Many people around me were surprised to see me with my hair so short, but some actually remembered the days when I had a similar hairstyle.”

Commenting on the drama special, she said, “There are some real action scenes and I get muscular pain every time I have to practice for them. I’m really serious about this!”

NTV is going to air “Ranma 1/2″ on December 9th. [source]

Well, that was fast. Just two days (barely) after the Android 4.0 SDK was released, a resourceful dev claims to already have the code up and running on a handset that isn't the Galaxy Nexus. Android Central forum user Breezy is working on delivering a taste of Ice Cream Sandwich to the Nexus S 4G. It's already pretty clear that particular handset will be getting the upgrade at some point, but we know how impatient you can be. Breezy hasn't released his ROM just yet, because there's still some bugs to work out -- like the non-functioning WiFi, Bluetooth, cellular data and the wonky touchscreen. So, while you wait for him to get the kinks ironed out, enjoy the additional photo after the break, which sports the same alternate orange theme. [source]

Tabloid magazine, “FRIDAY“, published their latest issue with “secret photos” of rock band L’Arc~en~Ciel on October 14th.

The magazine featured photos of Hyde (Vocal) kissing members Ken (Guitar), Tetsuya (Bass), and Yukihiro (Drum) on the streets, at the park, and in the car.

It turns out that these photos were all planned and published as the promotion for the L’Arc~en~Ciel’s latest single, “XXX“, which was released on October 12th. Since the comment on their official website was posted before “FRIDAY” was released, it caused many confused fans to speculate about this matter.
